Photo: Celestial Church pastor who chained his 9 year old son in Ogun state has been arrested


Francis Taiwo, the father of the Taiwo Korede, the 9 year old boy who was chained for weeks at the Celestial Church of Christ, key of Joy Parish Ajiwo in Ogun state has been arrested. Apparently Francis Taiwo is a pastor at the church and knew about his son being chained and without food for weeks. He had been on the run since NSCDC officials forcefully went to the church to rescue his son last Friday July 22nd. Francis will be charged to court soon.

Photos: RRS nabs two armed robbers, recovers gun and loots

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two armed robbers in two separate incidences in Ikotun and Olodi-Apapa, just as it recovered gun, jewellery, laptop and 18 mobiles phones from the robbers.

The robbers identified as Bashir Wasiu, 22, from Oyo State and Tunde Adedeji, 23, from Abeokuta, Ogun State were arrested in Olodi-Apapa around 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday, 19 July, 2016, and Ikotun on Monday, 18, July, 2016 around4:33 a.m. respectively.

...A couple welcomed quadruplet in Saminaka Local Government Area of Kaduna State. According to Hausa Zuma Times, one of the newborns unfortunately died but the other 3 are healthy.

Imo state first lady gifts orphan boy a 2-bedroom furnished bungalow


The first lady of Imo state, Nneoma Rochas-Okorocha, last weekend, commissioned and handed over a modern two bedroom furnished bungalow to the only surviving child of one Mr & Mrs Akubaa after the recent demise of the widow -Mrs Akubaa. The very elated boy said he wished his mother was alive to see the building.

81 killed in herdsmen attack in Benue state


No fewer than 81 persons have been reported dead during herdsmen attacks in Logo and Ukum council areas in Benue state in the last two weeks. Attacks on communities in the locality have been consistent and have led to death of so many people. The traditional ruler of Logo council area, Chief Jimmy Meeme, who spoke to Channels Television said 70 people have been killed in six out of the 10 council wards in his domain.

Photos: Two arraigned for assaulting FRSC official in Lagos

Two men were arraigned today before Mrs AA Famobiwo of magistrate court 3, Surulere for assaulting an FRSC official. Nwandu Onyeka and Okechukwu Jackson were arraigned on three count charge of conspiracy, assault and obstruction. Both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of 50k and 2 sureties each.

2 dead, 20 injured in communal clash in Ondo


2 people were killed while 20 others were injured after a communal clash broke out in Kogbona area in Ondo state. The clash started during a carnival organised by some youths in the area. One of the dead persons identified as Afusat Ayodeji, was the alleged leader of a cult group in the town, while the identity of the other victim is unknown.

Kidnapper arrested as he picks up N3m ransom


The Akwa Ibom police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers identified as Austin Agba, 35; Friday Sunday Paul, 23, and Christian Ekenu, 27, after their leader simply identified as Agba, went to pick up the N3 million ransom from relatives of one of their kidnapped victims at Olympus Hotel, along Afaha Uqua Road, Eket Local Government Area.

A 23 year old new mum, Prosper Ortega, was according to her family, a happy new bride just 6 months ago. Photos show her beaming and posing with her growing belly, a child, Ari, whom she gave birth to on June 16th. However, things became bad for Prosper when her husband became physically abusive towards her and tried to take away their infant child.

15 Die As Truck Crushes Commercial Buses

At least 15 people lost their lives while several others were injured in an auto crash involving a truck and three commercial buses in Asaba, Delta State. The truck carrying cement ran over three Mitsubishi commercial buses plying the ever busy Asaba-Onitsha Expressway.
