NatForce to Create 232,200 Jobs in 774 LGAs

The Director General, National Taskforce to Combat Illegal Importation/Smuggling of Arms, Ammunition, Light and Chemical Weapons (NATFORCE) Osita Okereke has said the Force will provide 300 jobs for each of the 774 local government areas (LGAs) of the federation as soon as they put things in order.

He said, "The jobs will ensure effective policing in communities as the various security forces have failed in their efforts to ensure security of lives and properties in the various communities".
Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja recently, the DG also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to set up a committee to negotiate with the Nigeria Delta Avengers to lay down their weapons as they were causing huge economic problems to the nation.
According to him, it is time to go back to community policing because the various security agencies have nothing to offer. He said as soon as "we settle some things we will create 300 jobs per local government."
Okereke noted that no community in Nigeria was arms free, stressing that even the alleged herdsmen were not herdsmen but Boko Haram insurgents that had found their ways into the various communities in Nigeria.
He said it was not fair to handle Biafran agitators on a generic terms, while accusing Igbos of not supporting Buhari "Biafra was a cause my fathers did not fulfill, so why will I want to go into it? Igbos are Nigerians and will be for Nigeria till tomorrow." He urged that Biafran agitators should be judged on personal failings rather than on generic terms.
The DG called on the Nigerian youths to give maximum support to Buhari as a father to move Nigeria forward within his four years tenure. He also appealed to the Avengers, Biafran Agitators and other militant groups to shield their swords and embrace dialogue with the federal government to resolve their differences.
Also reading the NATFORCE Media consultant, Okoroafor Uche tasked the federal government to call on the Nasarawa State police to account for 142 cows and guns recovered by the NATFORCE, recently.
According to him, 142 cows and some guns were recovered from Fulani herdsmen by the NATFORCE in Nasarawa State and handed over to the police, but up till now the police have not been able to give account of them. "We are therefore imploring the federal government to ask the police to provide them."
